A SAD DAY IN THE UNITED STATES

I just wanted to take a moment and express my grief over the evil that is going on in the government of the United States. I am ashamed for the United States because Donald Trump and J.D. Vance’s treatment of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was absolutely repulsive.

Our current President, Donald Trump has no respect for the very office of President he holds. He behaves like a spoiled brat in an old man’s body. He has no dignity, no decorum, and he has defiled the honour of the office of the President of the United States.

If Donald Trump is in office by divine providence, I perceive that the United States is under the judgment of God, and I fear for my nation. If it is not divine providence, I pray that somehow enough republicans in congress will find the courage to hold him accountable.

This is not good. I will be deleting this post, but I had to just say something.

  1. Thank you for having the faith and courage to Speak Truth to Power. You nailed the situation, and it is tragic beyond measure that the current White House occupant is worshipped — if that’s not too strong a word for people who also claim “Jesus is my Savior” while idol-izing a tyrant who seems to not actually care for his idolizers, except for the “earthly power” to which their votes elevated him.

    • I certainly believe what I have said, but the reason I may take this post down is that I want my site to be dedicated to the Lord Jesus, and glorifying him, not articles regarding political matters. Thus taking it down or leaving has nothing to do with whether or not I believe what I have said, its a matter of the focus of this site.

      • It is glorifying to God when we expose darkness and evil. So many professing Christians are under a strong delusion and need to hear the truth to wake up from the spell they are under.

    • I hear you when you say “It is glorifying to God when we expose darkness and evil. So many professing Christians are under a strong delusion and need to hear the truth to wake up from the spell they are under.”

Believe me, I hear you, but I have warned Christians and others in the past regarding Trump. The sad reality is that people (including Christians) are finally waking up, but many are waking up because is affecting them and not just the foreigner, migrant, minority, the LGBTQ, etc. When they thought that Trump represented their clan or tribe, they were all for him, but when it affects their lives, they suddenly wake up.

Back before the 2020 election I posted an article titled Donald Trump and Evangelicals. I opened that article by saying the following:

Recently another Christian said the following to me because I have decided to vote for Joe Biden: “I can and do say dogmatically you are no minister of God that I would sit under and based on the scriptures you have no place in the holy sacred pulpit. It’s people like you that compromise the word of God that’s leading the lost straight to hell.”  In the same setting, another person accused me of liking pedophiles.

I took that article down after a long time of it being up, but I still have it saved. I also have other articles addressing Trump. But what I think you are missing is I would rather use my site to teach about Jesus than to address Donald Trump.

Donald Trump has brought to light what is in so many people. I have a friend who has written a book called “We are Trump.” I am not sure that Donald Trump is God’s judgment on America as much as I believe he is God’s judgment on the American gospel that has abandoned Christ the Savior of all people.

People should have listened before Trump affected them. They should have listened when Trump’s hate affected the most vulnerable among us.

  2. I’m sorry. All of it is so sad and devastating. I agree with your assessment. I believe that the good that is coming from Trump being in the spotlight, is that what has always been hiding in our hearts is coming to light, and we have not progressed as far as we may have thought.

It is good to have a realistic understanding of who we are and what we are capable of. I lament the fact that “we” allowed/chose someone who nurtures the evil in our hearts rather than the good.

I cannot relate to “the church” anymore. I am not even convinced that they are “the church”. My husband and I pleaded with our church and families leading up to the first Trump admin, and have continued up to now. We have been on the receiving end of so much tribalism, and hate in return. We have lost our church and our families. So many have. In some ways, I’m thankful, because Trump- ism is what brought my husband and I onto the same page politically. It brought me out of conspiracy theory cult-like thinking. It allowed me to see the hypocrisy, racism, and fear our community produced, and taught as virtue. It allowed me to see that all the things I grew up being taught that “they” wanted to do to us, was projection all along. Out of the mouth flows the abundance of the heart. The accusers, claiming to be righteous, are now the ones bringing their worst fears to life against others. This is the fruit of their faith.

This is not the Christian faith, and they are not the church. This is blatant idolatry. The old testament prophets called it put. They brought messages that were unpopular, were hated and killed for it. Preaching Christ and preaching against idolatry is not either/ or, it is both/and.

I respect that you want to take the most beneficial approach. I pray you will had peace in however you feel led to move forward.
