In John 10 Jesus says the following:

I am THE GOOD SHEPHERD, and know MY SHEEP, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be ONE FOLD, and ONE SHEPHERD.

There is only “ONE FOLD” not two and this one fold has one Shepherd, the Lord JESUS!

God does not have two “covenant people” Israel and the church, He has only one. Modern Israel is not the fold, the church is. The church is not a Gentile entity, the church is the body of Jesus Christ, comprised of JEWS AND GENTILES.

For by ONE SPIRIT are we all baptized into ONE BODY, whether we be JEWS or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into ONE SPIRIT (1 Corinthians 12:13).

Jews who reject Jesus as Messiah are not the people of God as the scriptures clearly attest to over and over again. Jesus is the true shepherd of the true people of God and those who are not in HIS FOLD are not God’s people.

Then came the JEWS round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. But ye believe not, BECAUSE YE ARE NOT MY SHEEP as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and THEY FOLLOW ME…. (John 10:24-27)

Is it possible to be God’s people if Jesus is not your Shepherd? The answer is a resounding no!
