REBUKING GOOD BEHAVIOR IN THE NAME OF LOVE?

More and more, I am seeing people discrediting “good behavior” in the name of love, as if God doesn’t care about your behavior.

However, good behavior is NOT an abomination to God. Good behavior is actually something that God wants from his children. The apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, referred to good behavior as SOUND DOCTRINE.

Consider the words of Paul to Titus:

But SPEAK thou the things which become SOUND DOCTRINE: That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. The aged women likewise, that they be IN BEHAVIOR as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, THAT THE WORD OF GOD BE NOT BLASPHEMED. (Titus 2:1-5)

It might be time that some folks stop with all the “God loves me with extravagance” and start demonstrating love for God with their behavior and good works – which is exactly why God called you in his love, in the first place:

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus UNTO GOOD WORKS, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)

The good behavior, or good works, which people constantly discredit is what God ORDAINED in his love.

God, who is love, is going to reward and judge each of us according to our works.

Don’t miss the point: I did not say God saves us by works, He saves us and expects us to do good works and that’s Bible ALL DAY LONG!
